VFW Post 9679 in Waterford, California, stands as an enduring tribute to its namesake, John W. Rash Jr. His life was a remarkable testament to duty, community, and patriotism, and it is the foundation upon which our Post was built.

Born in Oklahoma, John W. Rash Jr.'s commitment to the nation spanned over 35 years of military service. Following his service, he became a dedicated resident of Waterford, CA.

Upon its formation, John W. Rash Jr. became a cornerstone of the Post, eventually serving as a respected Post Commander.
